CUT BY KIROV Editor

WHO AM I?!

My name is Lyubo Kirov and I made my first steps into editing at 16 - and I haven’t stopped since.

It started one restless summer between 8th and 9th grade. My best friend and I set out to capture Sofia’s pulse in a self-made documentary. I wrote the script, picked the spots, and we shot it all in a few frantic days. I spent the rest of that summer locked in an editing rabbit hole, experimenting, learning, obsessing. By the end, we had a 55-minute film - and I had found my thing.

Fast-forward to 2011: I went pro. Over the next eight years, I dove deep into Bulgaria’s biggest TV productions – “Your Face Sounds Familiar” (8 seasons), “The X Factor”(4 seasons), "You Have Mail (C’e posta per Te)" (2 seasons), "Total Madness" (2 seasons) “Bulgaria’s Got Talent” (1 season), plus countless promos, pilots, and passion projects. I wasn’t just editing – I was shaping the rhythm of Bulgarian mainstream entertainment.

In 2013, I co-founded a production company called "Crystal Frame". We didn’t just make films – we made impact. Our short films, like “Shooting Star” and “Timmy” picked up awards, toured international festivals and left their mark on the scene.

Then came the big leap. In 2019, I launched “Blacknova” - my very own post-production studio. Since then, I’ve been editing everything from slick commercial campaigns for giants like PUMA, Kinder, and L'Oréal (to name a few), to television (70+ episodes and counting across 3 different TV series), and powerful documentary films like "Do Marius i Nazad" and "Zaedno". I also had the chance to assist on the intense feature movies “In the Heart of the Machine” and “It Goes on All Fours”.

For me, editing isn’t just about cuts - it’s about crafting emotion, bending narrative, and pulling viewers into something unforgettable. This isn’t just a career. It’s a constant obsession.

It's all about moving pictures.
